NFL Week 10 What to Watch For

Tennessee Titans v New England Patriots

Week 10 will be here in no time and it looks like a good one.  Only two teams, the Texans and Giants, are on a bye and then starting next the byes are finally over.

The best games are the Patriots vs. Colts, Steelers vs. Bengals, and the Chargers vs. Eagles.

Here’s what you should watch for this weekend.

Brady Back in Action

In the third game of the season against Baltimore, Brady Quinn was pulled at halftime in favor of Derek Anderson.  Now he makes his return to the starting lineup against who else but Baltimore.  It’s could be the last chance for Quinn to succeed in Cleveland, and he’ll be in the spotlight on Monday Night.

Elimination Game in New York

The Jets and Jaguars square off on Sunday in a must win game for both teams. They are in contention for a wild card behind the Bengals, Chargers, and Ravens.   They both sit at 4-4 and a loss on Sunday drops one of them to 4-5 and all but out of the playoff picture.  I like the Jets to win this matchup.  They’re coming off a bye and playing at home against a hot and cold Jaguars team.

Andy Reid vs. Norv Turner

Arguably two of the worst game managers in coaching meet on Sunday in a huge game for both teams.  Andy Reid is being ripped for his decision to kick a field goal late in the game against the cowboys instead of going for it while it seems like Norv Turner’s job is always in question.  This game may come down to which coach doesn’t screw up.

NFL Week 10 Picks

Tennessee Titans v San Francisco 49ers

I had another mediocre week finishing 3-3.  Switching it up to six games didn’t do me any good so I’m going back to just picking four this week.

Let’s see if I can get back on the winning side this week:

Against the Spread:

1. San Diego Chargers (-2) over the Philadelphia Eagles

Probably my favorite game on the schedule this week.  Both team are looking to make a statement and could use this win bad.  The Chargers are trying to inch closer to the Broncos while the Eagles are looking to rebound after falling to the Cowboys last week.

The Eagles were without Brian Westbrook last week and it looks they will be without him again this week.  Although LeSean McCoy filled in nicely, the offense simply isn’t the same without a healthy Westbrook in the lineup.

Phillip Rivers has really stepped up this season despite receiving virtually nothing out of the running game.  Him and Vincent Jackson have combined to form one of the most lethal duos in the league.  I expect this game to come down to the wire and I like Norv Turner calling the shots in a close game rather  than Andy Reid.

2. Tennessee Titans (-6.5) over the Buffalo Bills

I’ve picked against the Titans the past two weeks and they’ve burned me, but I’m on the bandwagon now.  Don’t let me down Vince.

The past two weeks the Titans are playing like the team we expected them to be before the season.  Vince’s presence is opening up the running game even more for Chris Johnson who has absolutely dominated the past two weeks.  The key for the Titans has been turnovers.  They have not turned the ball over in their last two games.

Getting back to the animal known as Chris Johnson.  The man is simply too fast for opposing defenses.  He hits the outside in a flash and is gone before you know it.  He get the Bills this week, who are ranked dead last in the league against the run giving up 173.6 yards a game to opponents.  This game has mismatch written all over it.

NFL Week 10 Suicide Pick

Miami Dolphins v New England Patriots

I went with the Falcons last week and they went on to win easily 31-17 and the game was never really in question.

The big upset last week was the Bucs topping the Packers for their first win of the season.  I’m sure a decent amount of people took the Packers last week, so congrats for not and surviving.

This week has plenty of options.  There are a couple of big name teams in easy matchups (Minnesota, New Orleans) and some lesser quality teams with nice matchups (Miami and Denver).

Now onto this week’s pick:

Teams already used:

Week 1: Seattle Seahawks: Win

Week 2: Green Bay Packers: Loss

Week 3: Baltimore Ravens: Win

Week 4: New York Giants Win

Week 5: Dallas Cowboys Win

Week 6: Pittsburgh Steelers Win

Week 7: Carolina Panthers Loss

Week 8: Chicago Bears Win

Week 9: Atlanta Falcons Win

The pick for week 10 is the
