We finally made it to the last week of the regular season.
Congrats to all that have made it this far and good luck this week.
Unfortunately for me, I misfired with my pick last week as I took the Saints, who I’m sure cost many people. Blowing a 17-0 lead to a two win team at home in unheard of, but that just goes to show you why they play the games.
Let see if I can end the season on a good note:
Teams already used:
Week 1: Seattle Seahawks: Win
Week 2: Green Bay Packers: Loss
Week 3: Baltimore Ravens: Win
Week 4: New York Giants Win
Week 5: Dallas Cowboys Win
Week 6: Pittsburgh Steelers Win
Week 7: Carolina Panthers Loss
Week 8: Chicago Bears Win
Week 9: Atlanta Falcons Win
Week 10: Miami Dolphins Win
Week 11: Minnesota Vikings Win
Week 12: San Diego Chargers Win
Week 13: Cincinnati Bengals Win
Week 14: Tennessee Titans Win
Week 15: Arizona Cardinals Win
Week 16: New Orleans Saints Loss
The pick for Week 17 is the San Francisco 49ers.
The 7-8 49ers travel to St Louis to take on the Rams in the season finale. A win here for the 49ers would put them at .500 and would mark the first season since 2002 that the 49ers have finished at .500 or better.
The last time these two foes met was in week four and the 49ers took that game 35-0 and that was with Shaun Hill and Glen Coffee at quarterback and running back. Now with Frank Gore back healthy and Alex Smith taking over at the helm the 49ers offense has drastically improved and should have no problem with a Rams defense that rankins near the bottom in both pass and rush defense.
A loss this week for the 1-14 Rams clinches them the number one pick. While that means nothing to the players, it may have an impact on whether they decide to play Steven Jackson or not. With the possibility of selecting Ndamukong Suh, I’d bet on the Rams resting Jackson and losing to the 49ers.
Final Score: 49ers 21 Rams 10
In case you have used the 49ers, here are some other teams I like this week:
Broncos over the Chief- Their playing at home with the season on the line. When these teams played four weeks ago the Broncos won 44-13.
Titans over the Seahawks- The Seahawks are playing terrible football right now. The Titans want to end the season on a good note and finish at .500.
Bills over the Colts- If you really have no one left I’d consider the Bills. Curtis Painter and the subs looked bad last week and they’re going to play a lot more this week.
