If your reading this, then I’m assuming you didn’t pick the New Orleans Saints last week and survived. If you took my advice then you also survived. Yes, you had to sweat it out until the final minutes, but the Philadelphia Eagles pulled out the victory and that’s all that counts (same goes if you had the Lions). Why the Browns didn’t go for two when they scored and took the lead, I’ll never know but then again God hates Cleveland. So moving on to Week 2, there are a few candidates but one sticks out more than the rest.
The suicide pool pick for Week 2 is the New England Patriots.
I don’t like using a great team like the Patriots this early in the season, but I’m just not comfortable with any other team this week. The Houston Texans are the other popular pick, but they’re also a very good team that I want to save plus they’re on the road unlike the Patriots. The Cincinnati Bengals should beat the Browns, but it took the Eagles all 60 minutes to do so and the Bengals just got destroyed by the Ravens. The other popular pick is the New York Giants, who I’m definitely staying away from. The Buccaneers are dangerous and Schiano will have them fired up as they head to New Jersey, his old stomping grounds.
So that leaves me with the Patriots, playing at home against the Arizona Cardinals. I wouldn’t over-think it and put much stock into the Cardinals win over the Seattle Seahawks (rookie qb on the road). Yes they will be the most popular pick in your suicide pool, but they’re the right pick.
Final Score: Patriots 34 Cardinals 17
Week 1: Philadelphia Eagles: Win
