Video: Tom Coughlin Mic’d Up: “Critics Can Kiss My Ass”
The New York Giants finished the season 1-2 losing the division title and a wildcard berth in the process. Many critics called for head coach Tom Coughlin to be fired, despite the team’s 10-6 record. Don’t tell that to Coughlin’s face though.
In the locker-room after the regular season finale victory over the Redskins, Coughlin was animated and had some choice words for the media telling them they could kiss his you know what. Now if the only the Giants could have played with that kind of fire against the Eagles and Packers, but that’s a different story for a different day.
Looks like Tom Coughlin is channeling his inner Rex Ryan right there.
Video: Brett Favre Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Animation
The good people over at NMA, Next Media Animation, have done it again. These are the guys responsible for the hilarious Tiger Woods Video and now have taken upon the task of America’s favorite footballer, Brett Lorenzo Favre. This isn’t their first animation of Favre, but I can say this one is even better than that one.
This animation deals with the latest allegation against Favre, the sexual harassment lawsuit that two former Jets massage therapists filed against him.
This is a great article that give you some background about the company, NMA, and how they produce these clips and their goals for the future.
Video: Santonio Holmes Dresses Up as Santa Claus
Santonio Holmes took some time recently to dress up like Santa Claus at Modell’s Sporting Goods and hand out some New York Jets jersey’s for Christmas.
It’s nice to see a player who often gets labeled as having character issues do some good for the community.
I would love to see the outtakes of this though.
Video: DeSean Jackson Punt Return TD in Tecmo Bowl
As if Giants fans haven’t suffered enough. Now, they can see DeSean Jackson’s amazing punt return touchdown as time expired reenacted on Tecmo Bowl.
Too bad they don’t have Tom Coughlin running out on the field and verbally abusing Matt Dodge.
Video: Kicker Makes 68 Yard FG
This week the 49ers signed kicker Fabrizio Scaccia to their practice. It was your typical mid week roster move. So why am I devoting a whole post to this? Well, other than the awesome sounding name, Scaccia has some game as well. In a semi-pro game Scaccia once was a 68 yard field goal with room to spare.
He spent the 2009 season with Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League and played this past season in the UFL for the Sacramento Mountain Lions making 12-16 field goal, including a 54 yarder.
Hopefully, this guy can stick into training camp next summer, even if it’s only as a kickoff specialist.
Video: Richard Seymour Slaps Ben Roethlisberger, Gets Ejected
Ben Roethlisberger connected with Emmanuel Saunders on a 22 yard touchdown pass to give the Pittsburgh Steelers a a 20-3 lead over the Oakland Raiders. Then after the play was over, Roethlisberger was jawing with Richard Seymour. Somebody said something or somebody’s momma and Seymour ended up slapping Roethlisberger right in the throat.
Seymour was subsequently ejected, and the Steelers went on to crush the Raiders 35-3.
Share what you think Roethlisberger said below in the comments.
Video: David Garrard Haily Mary TD to Mike Thomas (Gus Johnson Audio)
The Houston Texans looked like they were in position to potential win the game and get back above .500. Matt Schaub hit Joel Dreessen over the middle to the Jacksonville Jaguars 37, but he proceeded to fumble and the Jaguars recovered. A Marcedes Lewis 11 yard gain and a 5 yard penalty on the Texans set the Jaguars up at midfield with 3 seconds left.
David Garrard took the snap, dropped back in the pocket and heaved a hail mary down the left sideline toward Mike Sims-Walker. Glover Quinn stepped up and batted the ball back – instead of trying to intercept it or spike it – and it fell right into the hands of Mike Thomas who walked into the end zone for the game winning touchdown.
Check out the video to see Gus Johnson’s incredible call of the play. Drama always seems to find him.
Video: Domata Peko Wrecks Troy Polamalu
In a otherwise forgettable night for the Bengals, they can still take solace in this hit by Domata Peko on Troy Polamalu.
Peko was playing fullback in the Bengals goal line offense and exploded off the ball and absolutely barreled Polamalu into the ground paving the way for Cedric Benson to punch it in from 1 yard out.
Don’t worry though, Polamalu got his revenge. His target: Terrell Owens. That is a textbook clean hit. The NFL should be showing that hit to the league for a guideline on how to hit cleanly
Video: Austin Collie Gets Knocked Out, Suffers Concussion
Peyton Manning looked over the middle and delivered a strike for his reliable slot target Austin Collie. Collie caught the ball took a step and then was popped by a combination of Philadelphia Eagles defenders.
Quinton Mikell delivered the first blow, which sent Collie into Kurt Coleman, whose helmet struck Collie’s.
Collie laid on the field motionless for number of minutes before being carted off on a stretcher.
Updates say Collie was alert and moving around in the locker-room and that the Colts believe he only suffered a concussion.
Also get ready for a week long debate about whether the hit was legal or not.
Video: Wes Welker Converts PAT
With Steven Gostowski unable to kick, jack of all trades receiver Wes Welker stepped in. Welker stepped in and nailed an extra point attempt right down the middle. The kick wasn’t pretty, but it was better than Ndamukong Suh did.
Unlike Suh, Welker does have some prior experience. Back when Welker was a rookie in 2004 with the Miami Dolphins he made both an extra point and field goal.
Accroding to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last day when two players, whose listed position were not kicker or punter, attempted extra points was Sept 9, 1979: QB Cliff Olander of the San Diego Chargers and RB Tony Galbreath of the New Orleans Saints.
